Masturbation has been defined as self-gratification induced by manual or other bodily contact of the sex organ ending in an orgasm outside of intercourse. It is usually the first sexual behaviour of human beings, both male and female, and is one of the major problems faced today, especially by young people.

Masturbation is not only an awful-sounding word, but it also arouses awful feelings of distress, guilt, anxiety and fear by those who practise it. This in itself should set alarm bells ringing in our head and it is no surprise to find that scripture does not condone it as the norm.
